CATHERINE J. "CATHY" RIFFLE, age 74, of Lake Station, passed away January 4, 2020.  She was born in Hobart on November 17, 1945 to the late James J. and Doris E. Riffle.  Cathy worked for many years as a dispatcher for the Lake County Highway Dept.  She enjoyed being outdoors camping or gardening.  Cathy also loved music and traveling, but above all she loved her family.  Cathy will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her 6 children, Catherine (Brian) Brandt of LaPorte, Lynette (Dennis) Woodward of Hammond, Julie (Mike) Bellomy of Galeton, CO, Michelle (JEB) Jestes of Rayne, LA, Tammy (Joel) Knoerzer of Wheeler, and Roger Jestes of Hudson, NH; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer (fiancé, Matthew Jay) VanTil, Sara (Tyler) Szynal, Brandon (Jennifer) Thomas, Matthew, Christian and Elizabeth Talley, Michael and Summer Bellomy, and Ayden Elkins; 3 great grandchildren and one on the way, Elian Haziza, Noelle Thomas, and Nora Jay; brother, James Riffle, II of Las Vegas, NV; dog, Mitzi; many nieces, nephews and other loving family members and dear friends.

Cathy was also preceded in death by her sister, Marguerite "Babe" Treece.

Memorial contributions in Cathy's memory are preferred to the Hobart Humane Society.

A Celebration of Life for Cathy will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at MCC Church, 5579 Clem Road, Portage, IN  46368.
