Catherine Jean Villanueva

Catherine Jean Villanueva, age 71, of Chesterton and formerly of Portage passed away May 30, 2022, in her home.  Catherine was a home maker, wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a member of St. Francis -Xavier Catholic Church in Lake Station. She was graduate of Edison High School and enjoyed scrapbooking.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Kristen) Villanueva of Chesterton, and Anna Villanueva also of Chesterton; her granddaughter Isabel Villanueva; and several nieces and nephews.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband Jesus; her parents; and seven brothers and sisters.

Visitation for Catherine will be conducted from 4-8 pm Friday June 3, 2022, at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel 3781 Central Avenue Portage, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin with 10:30 am Saturday Prayers at the Funeral Home and process to St. Francis-Xavier Catholic Church 2447 Putnam Street Lake Station, IN 46405 at 11:00 am. Rev. Jaime Perea will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
