Catherine Zieba

Age 91, of Hobart, In., passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at her residence as those were her final wishes. She was born on October 4, 1932, to the late Francis and Mary Staver. Catherine was a member of St. Bridget Church, Silver Bell Club Lodge 2365 of the PNA, and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 0207. Catherine enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her four sons: David (Gail) Zieba of League City, TX, Bob Zieba of Hobart, IN., Steve Zieba of Michigan City, IN and Jim (Sherry) Zieba of Carmel, IN., nine grandchildren: Kelly, Michael, and Robert Zieba, Lauren (John) Caddell, Elliott (Katie) Zieba, Jacob Zieba, Megan (Kevin) Meyer, Alex and Jon Zieba, two great grandchildren: Katherine and Emily Caddell.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Chester Zieba; sister, Bernice Burgdorf and brother, John Staver.

Catherine's visitation will be from 2:00-7:00 pm Monday, April 15, 2024, at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin with 9:30 am Prayers at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, and then Process to St. Bridget's Catholic Church 107 Main Street Hobart, Indiana at 10:00 am with Rev. Benjamin Ross officiating . A burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery Portage, Indiana.
