Cathy J. Willis

There are few words to express our deep pain in announcing the death of my mother Cathy Willis (nee Hightower), formally Morrow, formally Tucker.

Cathy passed away on Wednesday February 8, 2023 at the age of 71 from complications of surgery.  She leaves behind her loving husband of 13 years, Brian Willis of Portage.  Two sisters, Connie (Ken) Giacchero and Linda Kight.  Her daughter Kelly (Mike) Thompson and son Larry Morrow, both of Portage, and step daughter Tami Short.  Grand children Nicholas Ogrodowski, Diana Ogrodowski, Christopher Thompson, Holly Weaver, Nathan (Alana) Short, Cody Short and Dustin Hawkins and great grandchildren Chelsea, Case, Lily and Xavier.  She was preceded in death by her parents Horton Lee Hightower and Ruby (Vaughn) Langston and her late husband Alan Tucker.

Cathy was a homemaker who loved to sew and was very crafty and creative.  In recent years, she was a bartender at the American Legion post 260 in Portage Indiana, where she was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.

Cathy was a wonderful loving wife, mother, sister, Grammy and great Grammy.  As per her wishes, there will not be a service, but instead, a celebration of her life at the Portage American Legion on Friday February 17, 2023 from 4-?.  5675 Mulberry Ave.  Please join us to celebrate this wonderful woman. ❤️ (Celebration will take place in the club room 21+ only)
