Cecil Eugene McDaniel, age 64, of Otis passed entered into Heaven Thursday June 19, 2014. He was born February 6, 1950 in Pascagoula, Mississippi to James Coy and Lenora (Miller) McDaniel, Sr. Cecil was an Iron Worker who retired from Local Union #395. Cecil was the head and heart of a big family and will be greatly missed. Cecil loved his cars, fishing, working in his yard, landscaping, and spending time with his family.
Cecil is survived by his loving wife Lyubov of Otis; his mother Lenora McDaniel of Portage; three children Jeff (Jamie) McDaniel of Ashland, OH, Kelley (Sergio) Eldridge of Porter and Brian (Susan) McDaniel of Porter; a stepdaughter Anna Rogers of Chicago; 13 grandchildren Keagan, Hudson, Addison, Camden, Rylan, Megan, Matthew, Brian Jr., Zachary, Isaac, P.J., Nikita and Misha; two brothers James "Nick" McDaniel of Valparaiso and Richard McDaniel of Portage; a sister Lavada (Charles) Langston of Portage; and several nieces and nephews.
Cecil was preceded in death by his wonderful father James "Red" McDaniel in 1998.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday June 24, 2014 at the Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, Indiana with Pastor Terry Glovier officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Monday at Rees Funeral Home.
