Cecil Miles

Cecil Miles, age 77, of Portage passed away Thursday January 30, 2025, at Northwest Health-Porter Hospital in Valparaiso. Cecil was born March 12, 1947, in Blair, Kentucky to the late Jonah and Matilda (Fields) Miles. Cecil was a steelworker that retired from AcelorMittal Steel Company. Cecil loved the outdoors, fishing, reading, and writing poetry.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Karen; two daughters, Tammy Sue Sullens of Colorado, and Rebecca Jane (Chris) Ford of Portage; six grandchildren, Damyn, Miles, Margaret, Trey, Gabby, and Lucy; two brothers, James Miles and Stephen Miles both of Kentucky; one sister, Janis Tyree also of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cecil's Memorial Service will be held 1:00 pm Sunday June 8, 2025, at the American Legion Post # 260 in Portage. It is located at 5675 Mulberry Ave. Portage, Indiana 46368.
