Charlene (nee Sancillo) Carpenter, age 52, of Monterey, Indiana passed away at home Thursday, July 16, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 2, 1963 in Gary, Indiana to the late Charles and Martha Sancillo. On August 26, 2000, she married the love of her life, Roger Carpenter. She will always be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend to many.

Charlene is survived by her beloved husband of 15 years, Roger Carpenter; sons: Daniel (Marisa) Alexander, Roger (Stefanie) Carpenter Jr.; daughter: Kari (Brian) McBride; grandchildren: Brianna Peters, Hunter Alexander, Madison McBride, Natalee McBride; brother: Charles Sancillo; sisters: Anita (James "Bubby") Steele, Mary (Danny) Boskovich; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Martha Sancillo; grandparents: L.Z. and Lena Lauderdale.

A funeral service for Charlene will take place Monday, July, 20, 2015 at 12:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN with Minister Steve Martinez officiating. She will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 19, 2015 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the funeral home.
