Charles Choucalas

CHARLES CHOUCALAS, age 69, of Portage, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013. Charles was born on September 10, 1943 in Gary, Indiana to the late Theodore and Evdokia Choucalas. Charles was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Charles is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen (nee Sinks); 3 children, Deanna (Randy) Robinson of Portage, Charles J. Choucalas of Portage, and Karla (Craig) Lindstrom of Valparaiso; 5 grandchildren, Erika (Aaron) Johnson, Kristopher (Ashley) Robinson, Kurtis (Alison) Robinson, Bradley Lightfoot, Karlee Robinson; 2 great grandchildren, Ashton and Zachary Robinson; 2 sisters, Nomiki Choucalas of Miama, FL and Katina (Brian) Knickerbocker of Tucson, AZ; other loving family and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, George Choucalas and his sister, Mary Manaklis.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the family are preferred.
A memorial service for Charles will be Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 5785 Mulberry Ave., Portage, IN with Rev. Randy Forsythe officiating. There will be memorial visitation at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 12 Noon (time of service).
