Charles Robert Gibson, Sr., age 87, of Portage passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 at home. He was born on September 18, 1934 in Portage, Indiana to the late Charles and Laura Gibson. Charles was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #142 and worked as a truckdriver for Wills Oil. He loved fishing, cooking the fish he caught and having family and friends over for fish fries. He was a family man and will always be remembered for his great sense of humor.

He is survived by his daughters, Charlene Hernes and Marsha Gibson; brothers, Billy and Richard; sister, Barb; step brother, Lee Delmage and a host of many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Gibson; son, Charles R. Gibson, Jr.; brothers, Larry and Leon; and sister, Rose.

A Celebration of Charles' Life will be held at the Portage Moose Lodge 3075 Countyline Road Portage, Indiana 46368 on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 12:00 to 3:00 pm.
