Charles C. Myers
Portage, Indiana
Age 88, passed away Tuesday March 13, 2012 at VNA hospice in Valparaiso.Charles proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II and was a member of the 11th Airborne Division and the Portage, Knights of Columbus Council 9114 in Portage and a member of Northwest Indiana retirees. He retired after 40 year of working as a Heater at U. S. Steel in Gary, IN. He will be remembered as a loving husband, brother and friend.He is survived by his brother, James F. Myers of Massillon, Ohio, sister, Marcella J. Hepe of Columbus, Ohio, sister-in-law, Mary Wallace and many other loving family members and friends.
Charles is preceded in death by his wife Catherine Myers, his parents; Charles and Hazel Myers and 5 siblings. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on, Monday, March 19,2012 at Nativity of Our Savior Church, 2949 Willowcreek Road, Portage, Indiana 46368. With additional visitation from 9:30 until time of service. Burial at Calumet Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, March 18,2012 from 4:00-8:00p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, Indiana.
