Charles Porter Sheid

Charles Porter Sheid, age 75, of New Chicago passed away suddenly Friday October 23, 2020 at the St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart.  Charles was born May 5, 1945 in Dunlap, Tennessee to the late Porter Austin and Nell (Teel) Sheid. He retired from Midwest Steel.  Charles enjoyed watching movies and television programs about true crimes.  He loved his Lord and read his Bible often.  He was a longtime member of The Church of Jesus Christ in Portage and was a former minister.

Charles is survived by two sons, Charles Christopher (Lisa) Sheid of Hobart and Charles Jason Sheid of Branson, Missouri; one sister, Wanda Law of Chesterton; many nieces and nephews; and several good friends and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Linda Sue Frazier and Nancy Keaton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, Indiana 46368.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
