Obituary
Charles M. Twilla, age 87, of Hobart, formerly of Portage, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021. He was born in Lenox, Tennessee on August 21, 1934 to the late William and Ola (nee Smith) Twilla. He was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Portage where he served as a Deacon Trustee, Sunday School teacher, and Youth Leader for over 50 years. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, frequent naps, and loving on his grandchildren.
Charles is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Agnes (nee Alsobrook) Twilla; sons, C David (Camille) Twilla, Jeffrey (Donna) Twilla; daughter, Jennifer (Steven) Alexander; grandchildren, Sara, Becky (Allen), Donald, Zachary, Max, Logan, Colton, Samantha, Maleia (Gabe), Reese, Jesse; three great grandchildren; five nephews; one niece; three great nephews; and two great nieces.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald, Jerry, William, Jr. Twilla; and sister, Betty Midkiff; and his parents.

A funeral service for Charles will take place Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 10:00 am with Pastor Terry Gibson officiating at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. Portage, IN 46368. He will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park in Hobart. Visitation will take place Friday, September 10, 2021 from 4-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
