Charlotte A. (nee Campbell) Buhmann, age 78 of Portage, Indiana  passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020. She was born on March 19, 1942 in California, Missouri to Charles and Flossie Campbell. She was a 1960 graduate of Cleveland High School in St. Louis, Missouri. Charlotte was employed as an insurance agent for American National Insurance. In her lifetime, she fostered 55 children in her home. She was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed making jewelry.

She is survived by her sons, Scott (Julie) Buhmann, Bill Buhmann, John J. (Barbara) Buhmann, II; grandchildren, Jaime (Sean) El-Talabani, Kelly (Sean) McGuire, Carrie (Nathan) Bell, Aaron (fiancée, Justice Greenleaf) Buhmann, Ashley (Kevin) Wiskirchen, Shawn Buhmann (Ashley and Shawn's mother, Barbara Buhmann) Lauren Buhmann, Anna Buhmann; great grandchildren, Ethan and Asher El-Talabani, Jameson, Declan, Kaven and Juliette McGuire, Cecelia, Charlotte and Anita Wiskirchen; brothers, Louis (Carol) Campbell and Harold Hepler; and sister, Aileen Moore.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Campbell at a very early age; her parents, Flossie and William Hepler; husband, John Buhmann; and son, Jeffery Buhmann. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Charlotte's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

A burial of cremains will take place at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
