Cheryl L. Linscott

Age 64, of Grovertown, Indiana, formerly of Lake Station, Indiana, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Gary, Indiana, on August 2, 1961, to the late Oscar D. and Mary H. (nee McGraw) Fitzgerald. Cheryl retired from Porter Hospital, where she worked in Central Scheduling. She was known for her dedication, kindness, and caring nature toward both patients and co-workers. Cheryl was the heart of her family. She deeply loved spending time with her grandchildren, her husband, her children, and her many friends. One of her greatest joys was cooking big Sunday family meals. She loved bringing everyone together, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and comfort. Cheryl will be remembered for her loving spirit, her devotion to family, and the way she made everyone feel at home in her presence. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Harry Linscott; three sons, Ryan (Maria), Michael (Jessica), and David Linscott; daughter, Krista Maggart; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Michael (Vickie) Corley and Ron Corley; sister, Rhonda (Rick) Ruble; numerous nieces and nephews; and other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Stanfill Fitzgerald; her daughter, Kendra Linscott; her maternal grandmother, Levia McGraw; her sister-in-law, Pat; and her mother and father.

A funeral service for Cheryl will be held Monday, March 2, 2026, at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Ave., Portage, Indiana 46368 with Pastor J.J. Hairston officiating. Burial at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation for Cheryl will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 2:00-8:00 pm also at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel.
