Cheryl L. Wilcox, age 70, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2026. Cheryl is survived by her loving children, Christopher (Allison) Gomez and Jenifer (Jonathan) Bidart; her cherished grandchildren, Charlie, Jack, and Adeline Gomez, and Landon and Lucia Bidart; her sisters, Mary Gibson and Lisa (Dave) Howell; her nephew, Daniel (McKenna) Moro; her great nephew, Milo Moro; and her beloved Shih Tzu, Lilly, who was her constant companion and brought her endless comfort and joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Richard Gibson, and her brothers, Gary and Daniel Gibson.
Cheryl found great joy in friendship and community. She proudly spent more than 40 years playing bunco with her dear friends and was an enthusiastic participant in bowling leagues, traveling often to compete in tournaments. In her retirement years, Cheryl relocated to Indianapolis to be closer to her children and grandchildren, a decision that brought her tremendous happiness and fulfillment. She also treasured quiet moments at home with Lilly, her sweet and adored Shih Tzu, always by her side.
Funeral arrangements and visitation will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, located at 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, Indiana. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service. For more information, please call (219) 762-3013. Cheryl will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her warmth, loyalty, love of family, and the special bond she shared with those she loved—both two and four legged.
