Chester L. King

Chester L. King, age 95, of Portage, passed away at home on Sunday, February 11, 2018.  He was born in Dowling, South Dakota on April 13, 1922 to the late Ralph and Nellie (nee Payne) King.  Chester was a Local 1005 Carpenter since 1946 until he retired, and then became a member of the Retirees Carpenter's Club.  He enjoyed traveling, eating, and most of all, his family.

Chester is survived by his wife of 73 years, Alice (nee McManus) King; daughter, Joy A. (Dennis) Riggers; grandchild, Martin (Samantha) Costello; great grandchild, Alyson Costello; and brother, Ralph King.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lyman, Lester; sisters, Ethyl Moore, Helen Bauer; and his parents.

A funeral service for Chester will be Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 12:00 pm with Pastor Bob Burton officiating at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd.
