Christian Michael Wedding

Christian Michael Wedding, age 50, of Portage, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2026, at home. He was born on January 2, 1976, in Hammond, Indiana.

A devoted follower of Christ, Christian found great purpose in traveling with Christafari missionaries, sharing the message and love of Jesus with others. He loved playing guitar and had a deep appreciation for music, especially the songs of Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. Christian's greatest pride and accomplishment in life were his beloved children. He was also an avid Chicago Bears fan and loved spending time outdoors. Whether hiking, biking, or simply enjoying the sunshine, he found peace and happiness at the beach.

Christian is survived by his daughter, Grace Wedding; son, Ilijah Wedding; mother and stepfather, Christine and Randy Wallick; father and stepmother, Michael and Vicki Wedding; sister, Amy; devoted dog, Elvira; special cousins, Toni Fugate, Ashlee (Tom) Hazard, and Cydnee (Trevor) Dahlgren; former wife and dear friend, Diane Schalk; best friend, Greg Ashby; and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald and Virginia Ahrens, and his aunt, Tina Wilson.
