Christina "Tina" E. Wingard, age 81, of Gary, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020.  She was born in Hammond, Indiana on February 22, 1939 to the late Frank and Helen (nee Marsh) Peters.  Tina was known for her love of clocks, dolls, and cars.  Her hobby was going to rummage sales.  She was a hard worker and retired from Coil Trans.  As the matriarch of the family, she kept all her children and the neighborhood in line.  Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her world.  Tina always had her dogs by her side.  Weenie will be missed

Tina is survived by her children, Teresa (Jeffery Scott) Harness of Crown Point, Bryan (Julie) Wingard of Hobart, Danny Wingard of Gary; children in law, Larry Gore, Jennifer Wingard; siblings, Robert "Butch" (Karen) Peters, Joe (Rosie) Peters; grandchildren, Annette (Keith) McIndoo, Jason Harness, Justin Cox, Skylar Wingard, Savannah Wingard, Tabatha (Chris) Charleston, Brittany Lamphear, Daniel Cooper, Lexi Sopher; and many great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wingard; children, Sally (Joe) Lamphear, Janiece Gore, Dennis Wingard; siblings, Cathy Schultz, Gloria Barnett, Fred Peters, Jerry Peters; and her parents.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, December 16, 2020 from 9:00-12:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel, 10909 Randolph St. Crown Point, IN 46307.

Please note that due to Lake County Covid-19 restrictions the visitation will be limited to 25 people at one time.  Masks will be required, and hand sanitizer will be available.  We ask that everyone helps us in keeping everyone safe and practices social distancing.

Funeral Service will be private.  She will be laid to rest at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.
