Christopher "Chris" Russell

Age 37, of Chicago, Illinois passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025. He was born on December 20, 1987, in Berwyn, Illinois the son of Thurmon "Red" Russell and the late Michele Cesak. He was a self-employed carpenter and was strong-willed and often learned through personal experience.  Chris had a deep affection for his children and loved spending time with them. He enjoyed fishing, sports, the Sox, tattoos and loved having a good time with family and friends.

Chris is survived by his three children, Dominic Cesak, Devilyn Cesak and Jaylyn Russell; his father, Red Russell, step-mom, Kathren Russell; seven brothers, Michael (Krystal) Cesak, Michael Lopez, Jonathan (Elizabeth) Brower, William Russell, Brandon (Hallie) Russell and Adam Lawler; two sisters, Tiffany Russell and Angelica (Jose) Hernandez; two grandpas, Julian "Jay" Piekarczyk, and Bob (Kim) Cesak, grandma, Linda Thompson, step-dad, Manny Hernandez and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Michele Cesak.

A Funeral service for Christopher will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342 at 3:00 p.m.. Cremation will follow. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 1:00 pm until the time of service also at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.  (219) 942-2109.
