Charles F. Shultz, age 83 of Valparaiso passed away November 9, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on November 3, 1940, in Rensselaer, Indiana to the late Charles and Bernice Shultz. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. On June 15, 1968, he married the love of his life, Beverly Shultz at Augustana Lutheran Church in Hobart. He graduated with an associate's degree from Purdue University and worked as a Surveyor for the city, county, and state. Chuck was a car enthusiast and loved hotrods and race cars. He enjoyed camping with his family and was an avid animal lover. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his sons, Stephen Shultz, Jeff (Sharon) Shultz, Ed (Kriss Cherne) Shultz; grandchildren, Joe (Kate Bell) Shultz, Steve Shultz, Jr., Nick Shultz, Hailee Samuels; great grandchildren, Hazel, Audrey, Galadriel, Layne and Luka; and two sisters, Janice King and Sharon Scholten.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beverly Shultz; and grandson, Aaron Shultz. Memorial contributions in Chuck's name may be made to the Humane Society of Hobart.
A funeral service for Chuck will take place Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Visitation will be held Monday, November 13, 2023, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Ridgelawn Cemetery. For more information, please call (219) 942-2109.
