Clancy Swan Lundahl

Clancy Swan Lundahl, age 100, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Chesterton Manor. He was born in Porter County, Indiana on May 29, 1918 to the late Swan and Clara (nee Eggers) Lundahl. He attended Liberty Center High School in Chesterton and then studied welding at Froeble Trade School in Gary.  He was a proud World War II veteran of The United States Army.  Clancy was a member of the American Legion and The Moose Lodge.  He retired from US Steel after 30 years of employment.

Clancy is survived by his daughter, Janice Guess; grandchildren, Donna Jean Shelby, Jerry (Elizabeth) Guess, Vicki Lynn (John) Fisher; and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donnabelle Madge Lundahl; son, Clancy S. Lundahl, Jr.; daughter, Carol Ann Mulholland; and many siblings.

A funeral service for Clancy will be held Monday, October 1, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Patricia Roberts at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. Portage, IN 46368.  He will be laid to rest at McCool Cemetery, Portage.  Visitation will take place just prior to the service on Monday from 11-1 pm.  For more information, please call 219-762-3013.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.reesfuneralhomes.com .
