Clara (Kaye) B. Conway
Our beloved mother Clara (Kaye) B. Conway 87 of Valparaiso, IN was called
Home to be with our Lord Jesus on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Our mother
loved gardening and had a green thumb planting and growing flowers in her
yard. She also loved mowing her yard. She was the Yahtzee Queen and
played with her neighbor and friend Cindy Cotton and her family members.
She was also a formidable Scrabble and player, challenging anyone brave
enough to play with her. She was an absolute diehard Chicago Cubs fan,
win or lose to her and her husband the Cubs were the only team that
counted. She loved music of all genres country, gospel, old-time rock 'n roll
among others.
She is survived by her children: Karen (Charley) Czadzeck of Kenosha,
Wisconsin; Malinda (William) Fucheck of Houston, Texas; Delaina (Scott) Seip
of Kenosha, Wisconsin; Ed (Jackie) Crook of Fort Worth, Texas; James Conway
of Valparaiso, Indiana. Stepdaughters Rhonda (Kevin) Curtis of Crown Point,
Indiana and Karen (Lee) Jones of Crown Point, Indiana. Her sister Nancy
(Travis) Wilson, her brother Perry (Beverly) Schultz. Her grandchildren: Aaron
(Tracy) Lofty, Jenifer (John) Cooper, Donald (Angela) Lofty, Karen (Robert)
Kuzelka, Malinda (Kelly) Ricchio, Shaun (Kellie) Lofty, Charles (Katy)
Bachman, Alexander Crook, Robert (Emily) Bachman, Nicholas Crook,
Benjamin (Dustin) Czadzeck, Michaleen (Marissa) Jones, Brogan Conway,
Fiona Conway, and James Conway. She has 27 great-grandchildren and 10
great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years James "Scotty"
Conway, her parents Charles and Dorothy (Cummins) Schultz, her grandson
Joseph Daniels, her sisters; Lucille Rone, Velda Scott, and Patty Bellinger, her
brothers; Kenneth Schultz, Darryl Schultz, Leon Schultz, and Robert Schultz.
The family would like to thank Rees Funeral Home Lake Station, Indiana and
Hospice Alliance of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.
Visitation will be at Rees Funeral Home (Brady Chapel), 3781 Central Avenue,
Lake Station, Indiana 46405 on Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 2:00 PM until
8:00 PM. Funeral services will be at the funeral home with an hour-long
visitation from 10:00 AM, services beginning at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 21, 2024. Interment
immediately following at Graceland Cemetery 1505 Morthland Drive,
