CLARA MAUDE JOHNSON NOWAKOWSKI, "GAL FRIDAY", age 87, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011. Clara was a 70-year resident of Lake Station coming from Manchester, TN. She was active in the community from helping neighbors to getting a street paved, to aiding motorists on her CB radio. Clara will be remembered as a loving and dear woman.

Clara is survived by her 2 children, Ron Johnson of Lake Station and Gail (H. Marshall) Gilliana of Hobart; 9 grandchildren, Eric, David, and Jack Johnson, Jr., Ron Carroll, Teresa (Jim) Scheuer, Trey (Tina) and Greg (Ryann) Gilliana, Kristin (Rusty) Copeland, Brianne (Justin) Horn, 5 great grandchildren, Amanda (fiancé, Rick Herrera) & Ashley Scheuer, Lucas Gilliana, Nolan & Baby Copeland; brother, Johnny (Carol) Vaughan; sister, Jean Connelly; and special nephew, John (Sue) Crosslin, all of TN; other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin "Sonny" Johnson; son, Jack "Misfit" Johnson; Rich Nowakowski; 3 brothers & 4 sisters.

A memorial services for Clara will be Friday, August 26, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with Evangelist Trey Gilliana officiating.
