CLARENCE L. BOWMAN, age 92, of Portage, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Millers Merry Manor in Portage. Clarence had been a Portage resident since 1978 and was formerly of Crown Point. He retired from Inland Steel as a millwright and was a longtime member of Bible Baptist Church. Clarence loved to hunt and fish.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Nellie, daughter, Marcia (Michael) Foreman of Valparaiso, daughter-in-law, Peggy Bowman of Crown Point, sister-in-law, Irene Bowman of Portage, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Larry Bowman, daughter, Barbara Bowman, brother, Harry Bowman and sisters, Maybelle Wahlman and Laura Coster.
Visitation will be Friday, January 14, 2011 from 10-11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage and the funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with Pastor Don Good officiating.
