Clarence K. "Chet" Shedrow, age 91 a longtime Hobart resident passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016. He was born on June 30, 1924 to the late Clarence A. and Ruth Shedrow. Chet worked as a pipefitter for Local # 597 and retired after 44 years service. He helped to organize the first Cub Scout troop in Hobart. Chet was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the M.L. McClelland Lodge #357 F and A.M. of Hobart. He was an ex charter captain and member of the Lake Michigan Sport Fishing Association, and a member of the Sportsman of Northern, Indiana. Chet's passions were his family and fishing.

He is survived by one daughter, Dylona (Robert) Miller of Sarasota, FL; one daughter-in-law, Linda Shedrow of Hobart, IN; one brother, Donald Shedrow of Charlotte, NC; one sister, Betty Merrell of Bradenton, FL; two grandchildren, Richard (Stephanie) Shedrow of Sun Prairie, WI; Sandy (Craig) Olson of Orlando, FL; two great-granddaughters, Elise Olson of Orlando, FL; Quinn Shedrow of Sun Prairie, WI; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera June Shedrow, one son, David Shedrow, one brother, Fredrick (Shirley) Shedrow, one sister, Joyce (Frank) Merrell, one sister-in-law, Ruth Shedrow, and one brother-in-law, Chester Merrell.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Chet's honor may be made to the VNA Hospice of Porter County, 2401 Valley Drive, Valparaiso, IN 46383.

Funeral services are Friday, February 5, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Pastor William A. Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville. Visitation is Thursday, February, 4, 2016 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Masonic Service at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
