Clarence H. "Jimmy" Hitson, age 91, of Orland Park, IL and formerly of Lake Station, passed away Thursday June 28, 2012 at the Autumn Leaves of Orland Park. He was a lifelong area resident that was born June 16, 1921 in Hobart, Indiana to Axel and Anna (Carlson) Hitson. He was a former member of The Michigan Avenue Methodist Church, AARP and American Legion Post #100 in Lake Station. Clarence was a steel worker that retired from Inland Steel in 1975. He also served in the US Coast Guard.
He is survived by his cousin Joan (Al) Rosignal of Orland Park, IL and close friend Donna (Bud) Matlock of San Pierre, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Hoover Hitson and Royal Hitson, and sisters Florence Hitson, Bernice Hitson and Gertrude Howard.
Visitation will be held Saturday June 30, 2012 from 11:00 am until time of funeral services at 12 noon at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana.
