Cody Michael Riffett, age 17, of Valparaiso passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2013. Cody was born on June 3, 1996 to Michael Riffett and Joelle Riffett in Valparaiso, Indiana. He was a student at Wheeler High School where he played right guard for the Bearcats.
Cody is survived by his parents Michael Riffett of Demotte and Joelle Riffett of Valparaiso; step mom, Christine Canady of Demotte; maternal grandmother Linda (Wilbert) Caldwell of Valparaiso; paternal grandparents Larry R. (Rose) Riffett of Portage; brother, Kyle Trathen of Valparaiso; two sisters, Zoey Riffett and Carley Riffett both of Demotte; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other loving family and friends.
A funeral service for Cody will be Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Pastor Bob Burton officiating. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery in Portage. Visitation for Cody will be Friday, June 28, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
