Colleen Johnson, 63, of North Judson went home to the Lord on April 29, 2024, with her husband by her side. She was born June 2, 1960, in Houston, Texas on June 2, 1960, to the late Gino Volta and Shirley Pierce.

Colleen grew up in Texas where she became a nurse and worked in a hospital there for many years.  In the mid-1980's she met Joe Johnson while he was in Texas for a time.   They married on October 30, 1987, and have raised four children.  Colleen was a natural caregiver.  Not only did she care for her patients in the hospital, but also took on the task of caring for family members during their illnesses.  Colleen took her responsibility as a patient advocate very seriously and would work fiercely to protect them.  She loved her family dearly and would do anything for them, she was always the one folks would call to come to the rescue, and because she was such a giving person, she would never refuse.  The world lost an angel, but she is now with the Lord.  Colleen will be missed greatly.

Colleen will be forever remembered by her adoring husband, Joe; children, Joseph (Belinda) Johnson, Misty (Andrew) Coty, Crystal Johnson, and Lindsay (John) Johnson; grandchildren, Hollie, Oliver, Emma, Kailey, Arabella, Trystin, Josiah, Kalah, Oliver, and Emery; stepmother, Pat Volta; stepfather, Jerry Pierce; in-laws, Larry Haner, David and Judy Alsop, and Randy Goldsmith; and several nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

In addition to her parents, Colleen was preceded in passing by brother, Frank Lee Volta; sister, Tia Arnold; daughter, Tabitha Johnson; and sisters-in-law, Janette Goldsmith, and Wanda Haner.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, May 4 from 1:00pm – 2:00pm pm at Inland Manor Baptist Church, 630 N County Line Rd, Hobart, IN 46342, with service to follow at 2:00pm.
