Collette Irene Brant

Collette Irene Brant, age 88, of Chesterton, Indiana, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2026. She was born on August 31, 1937, in Gary, Indiana, to the late John and Irene Kowal. Collette worked at Lake Station Community Schools and retired after over 30 years of service. She bowled at Rays Lanes in a league for several years. Collette loved spending time and visiting with her family.

She is survived by one son, Mark (Lori) Brant of Michigan City, IN; one daughter, Patricia (Jerry) Taylor of Crown Point, IN; one sister-in-law, Thasia Brant of TX; grandchildren, Jason (Kristi) Brant, Kristopher Brant, David (Heather) Brant, Jeremy (Kristin) Taylor, Alyson (Jim) Kulchar, Michael Vaughan and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Brant, one son, Gregory Brant, one brother, Phil, one sister, Patricia, and one grandchild, Morgan Brant.

Services will be private. Cremation was entrusted to Rees Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Hobart. (219) 942-2109.
