Connie Jean Autry (nee Parker), age 74, of Hobart and formerly of Portage, IN passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

Connie was born on May 13, 1949 in Hickory, NC to the late Kenneth Parker and Dorothy (nee Richardson) Howard.  She was a graduate of Portage High School and obtained a degree in Respiratory Therapy.  Connie was a Respiratory Therapist for over 30 years with Community Hospital in Munster.

Connie was a very spirited woman and an active busy body.  She loved to use the internet to chat, play games, and shop.  Connie loved to bowl and was a member of the Saturday Night All Stars at Stardust in Merrillville.  She enjoyed rum and coke and being with friends and family at parties.  Connie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be remembered for her joyous spirit.

Connie is survived by her daughters: Stacy L. Autry, Shannon (Tom Lambert) Autry, and Ginger Dawson; grandchildren: Seleste Autry, Cameron Autry, Whitney Carr, Miranda Iglesias, Breanna Collins, Christopher Lambert, and Ashley (Ron) Mejia; great-grandchildren: Parker Autry, Kennleigh Martin, and Noah and Theodore Mejia; siblings: Brenda (late Gary) Robbins, Becky (Allan) Drummond, and Kenneth (Linda) Parker; many nieces and nephews; and beloved cat: Bella.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents: Kenneth and Dorothy; grandson: Leo Lambert; brothers: William and Michael "Mickey" Parker; and brother-in-law: Gary Robbins.

Per Connie's request, there will be no funeral service held at this time.  A Celebration of Connie's Life will take place at a later date with Bacardi for ALL!!  Cremation and arrangements are entrusted to Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Connie's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
