CONNIE JOY BURNEY, age 68, of Hobart, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Regency Hospital in Portage. Connie had been a lifelong Hobart resident and member of St. Bridget Catholic Church and choir. Connie was a faithful blood donor for the Red Cross and member of the Maria Reiner Senior Center in Hobart. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Arlon Burney, sons, Michael (Susan) Burney of Valparaiso, Timothy (Shannon) Burney of Hobart and daughter, Kimberly Robison (Tom Toth) of Hobart,daughters-in-law, Tammy Burney of Valparaiso and Beth Burney of Merrillville, 13 grandchildren: Denise, Steven, Jr., Brittney, Ashley, Mikey, Jeremy, Alicia, Tiffani, Brandon, Bradley, Brooke, Caydence and Landen; 3 great grandchildren: Astaria, Carson & Ava and "one on the way", "sister", Mary Burney and sister, Cheryl Kozrowski of Valparaiso, 4 brothers: Robert (Sally) Fattore and Jack Fattore, both of Hobart, Jody (Lorie) Fattore of Denver, CO and Louie (Marie) Fattore of Winter Haven, FL and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons, Terry and Steven Burney, Sr., granddaughter, Kera Burney, parents, Louie & Jacqueline Fattore and grandmother, Concetta Fattore.
Funeral services will be held Monday May 6, 2013 beginning with 9:30 am prayers at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart and then proceeding to St. Bridget Catholic Church for a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Dominic V. Bertino officiating.
