Connie Nanney, of Portage, Indiana, passed away on September 29, 2018 at the age of 73.

Connie was survived by her children, Robert Nanney, Jr (Wanda), David Nanney, Staci Beckrich and Justin Nanney; her grandchildren, Brooke Elzinga, Stefanie Nanney, Brandon Elzinga, Travis Beckrich, Owen Beckrich, Gabriella Nanney, and Shianne Coleman; and her aunt Jessie . She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Robert J Nanney and parents, Georgia & Virgil Burnette.

Connie was born in London, Kentucky on January 3, 1945. On August 15, 1963, she married her high school sweetheart, Bob. Throughout the years, Connie spent her time raising her two sons, spending the weekends with Bob as he served God in church, and they enjoyed traveling together during the summer months. Connie was adored by her family and friends and her smile could light up the night. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother to all of her children and never hesitated to welcome someone into the family. She will be deeply missed by all of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know her.

A memorial service will be held at Lakeview Baptist Church, 2321 Dombey Rd, Portage, IN 46368 on Friday, October 5th. Family and friends can arrive, beginning at 10:00am, with the service starting at 11:00 am with Rev. Ronnie Cox officiating. A gathering with lunch provided will be provided immediately following the service at the American Legion, Post 260, at 5675 Mulberry Ave in Portage.
