CONNIE S. SLOVER, age 65, of Clayton, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at ProMedica Bixby Hospital. She was born December 20, 1947, in LaCrosse, IN, to Allen Dean and Edith (Heinold) Jones. On August 21, 1975, she married Kenneth Slover in lake Station, IN and he survives. Connie was employed as the Head Cook with the Hamilton Elementary School in Lake Station, IN, until her retirement in 2006. She loved doing crafts, cooking and baking.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, David A. Mathews of Westville, IN; one daughter, Christina (Gary) Thompson of Lake Station, IN; three brothers, Randy (Donna) Jones of Valparaiso, IN, Johnnie (Kathy) Jones of North Judson, IN and Ricky Jones of Clarksville, IN; two grandchildren, Nicole Sutton and Christopher Thompson; and one great-grandson, Cameron Peluyera. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will held on Sunday, April 21, 2013, from 1-5 p.m. at the Adrian Anderson Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 3-7 p.m. at the Rees Funeral Home, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage, Indiana, with a 7:00pm funeral service.
