Coy H. Bowen age 87 of Portage passed away Saturday February 7, 2015. He was born on October 27, 1927 in Scott County Virginia to the late Samuel and Delilah Bowen. He was a longtime Lake Station and Portage resident and was a member of the Central Avenue Church of God. Coy proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired from American Bridge. Coy loved fishing and hunting and will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Bowen of Portage, IN; one son, Danny (Sharon) Bowen of VA; three brothers, six sisters, six stepchildren, many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patsy Bowen.

Memorial donations in Coy's honor may be made to the VNA Hospice of Porter County, 2401 Valley Drive, Valparaiso, IN 46383.

Funeral services are Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 5341 Central Ave., Portage with Rev. Jerry P. Martin officiating. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery, Portage.
