Cristoval Tellez, age 94, of Portage, IN passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024. He was born December 29, 1929, in Mission, Texas to the late Dionicio and Soledad Elizondo de Tellez. He was a faithful member of the Latin Pentecostal Church of Lake Station. On January 26, 1951, he married Francisca Garcia and together they raised four children. He was a loving and caring father who took great pride in providing for his Family. He retired in 1981 after 30 years as a train operator for Youngstown. Cristoval enjoyed spending family time at Lake Michigan and took great pride in his holiday decorations at Christmas drawing many onlookers. Most of all he will be remembered for his generosity to those who were less fortunate or in need.

He is survived by his children; Vitalia (Michael) Hunke, Yolanda Garcia, Rosalinda (Vincent Lemus) Sherwood, Ricardo (Christine) Tellez; 10 grandchildren: Michael Hunke, Kristy (Greg) Varella, Elizabeth (Courtney) Ashley, Richard (Dominque) Garcia, RC (Katrina) Tellez, Cynthia (Kevin) Pachucki, Nicholas Garcia, Julian Tellez, Larry (Kasandra) Tellez and Cieara (Jared) Tellez; 8 great grandchildren; Cristyna, Karolina, Allison, Lilianna, Giovanni, Evan, Libby and Zion; special cousin Tomas Garcia; and many other
loving family members and friends.

Cristoval was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Francisca (nee Garcia) Tellez; his siblings, Luis Garza, Roman Garcia, Adan Tellez, Emma Tamez, and Elena Leggett; sons-in-law; Larry Sherwood and Rick Garcia.

A visitation will be held Friday, September 13, 2024, from 11am to Noon at
Latin Pentecostal Church of Lake Station, 3950 Marquette Rd. Lake Station, IN 46405. Funeral Service will be held immediately following the visitation. Cristoval will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Portage.
