Cynthia Ann Kolivas

CYNTHIA ANN KOLIVAS, age 62, of Portage, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025. She was born on November 13, 1962 to the late Theodore and Charlene Kolivas. Cynthia was a 1980 graduate of Portage High School and a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. She was a free spirit who lived in the moment. Cynthia had many adventures, including living in Maui in a tree house for 16 years. She came home to be a caretaker for her mother. In addition to being a bartender in Maui and a server at Strongbow, she was also a National Park Ranger. She will dearly missed and remembered as a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

Cynthia is survived by her 4 siblings, Ron (Carol) Kolivas, Charles Kolivas, Richard Kolivas, and Gloria (Norm) Foldenauer; niece, Megan (Josh) Edwards; great nephews, Jacob and Alex Edwards.

She was also preceded in death by her 2 brothers, James and Ted Kolivas.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Cynthia will be Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows , 356 W. Seven Mile Rd, Valparaiso, IN 46385 with Rev. Paul Quanz presiding. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368.
