Dalford B. King
"Doc"
Age 74, of Merrillville passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014. He was born on September 8, 1940 to the late John and Margaret (nee Yates) King in Gary, Indiana. Doc was a retired supervisor at U.S Steel and retired from One Source and Razor Back Steel. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines; he enjoyed spending his time with his family and fishing. Doc will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Doc is survived by his loving family; son John D (Julie) King of Valparaiso; two grandchildren, Nicole and Kaci King of Valparaiso; sister, Marva Parrish of Hessville and fiancée, Vera Lobody of Merrillville and other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Yolanda King, his parents and two brothers,John Dwayne and Jim King.
A Memorial Service for Doc will be Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 5:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342, with Pastor Craig Forwalter officiating.
