Dan Ursta, age 58 of Valparaiso passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011. He was born on April 23, 1953 in Gary, Indiana. He retired from LTV Steel in East Chicago, Indiana. Dan was an avid Chicago White Sox fan.

He is survived by 1 sister, Cynthia (Roger) Ershick of Portage, IN; 2 brothers, James (Janice) Ursta of Chesterton, IN; John C. Ursta of Gary, IN; 4 nieces, Cindi Delich of Chesterton, IN; Kimberly Sherwin of Valparaiso, IN; Jaime Beaver of Knoxville, TN;and Kathleen Ershick of Portage, IN; 1 nephew, Scott Ershick of Portage, IN; 3 great nieces, Macy Miller, Landry Beaver, Jessica Ershick, 3 great-nephews, Andrew Delich, Clifton Sherwin, Scott Ershick II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Ursta.

Funeral services are Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 6 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage with Rev. Eduardo Malagon officiating.
