Dana Marie Peksenak Cooley, age 47, of Portage was taken from this life on Monday February 13, 2023, at her home.  Dana was born May 11, 1975 in Hobart, Indiana to the late John Joseph and Linda Ann (Yaselsky) Peksenak. She was a retired quality control technician for Cleveland Cliffs Steel. Dana enjoyed bowling, riding her Harley, and Arts and Crafts of all kinds. Dana's primary passion was spending time with her daughter.

Dana is survived by her daughter, Linda Jean Marie Cooley of Portage; two step-daughters, Felicia (Tim) Salazar of Hammond, and Chasity Robinson of Ocala, FL; her brother, David (Rhonda) Peksenak of Portage; her sister, Lissa Peksenak of Knox; a niece, Katie Peksenak; a nephew, Kyle Peksenak; her husband, Richard Cooley of Portage; four step grandchildren, Madison, Drake, Alicia, and Christopher; and many other relatives and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Andrew Peksenak.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 pm Sunday February 19, 2023 at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, Indiana 46368. A Memorial Service will follow immediately at 2:00 pm at the Funeral Home.
