Danetta G. Rice-Parnell
Lake Station, Indiana
Age 57, went home to be with the Lord after a short battle with cancer on Friday, January 31, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Danetta was born on October 28, 1956 to the late Daniel and Gertrude Rice in Gary, Indiana.
Danetta was a member of Faith Mission Church in Portage, Indiana. She was an avid candle, jewelry, angel and nick-knack collector. She will be remembered as a loving companion, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother LeRoy Rice.
Danetta is survived by her companion; Leroy Parnell of Lake Station, two sons; William Rice and Kirk (Sandi) Rice all of Lake Station; daughter, Jacklynn Rice of Lake Station; 10 grandchildren; two brothers; Bob (Loretta) Rice of Jackson, Michigan, Daniel (Mary) Rice of Lake Station; sister, Debra Rice of Missouri, caretaker and step-daughter Amy (Manuel) Quiles of Gary, numerous nephews, nieces and other loving family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers donation to the family would be appreciated.
Funeral service for Danetta will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342. Burial at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
