Obituary

Daniel L. Grusak, age 76, of Lake Station passed away suddenly Saturday August 17, 2024. He was born July 6, 1948, in Gary, Indiana to the late Andrew and Fern (Hero) Grusak. He was a retiree of US Steel Sheet and Tin Mill, and a retired Lake Station Volunteer Fire Fighter. He enjoyed attending the Maria Reiner Senior Center, he was also a member of the SOAR Club. He was a devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hobart.

Daniel is survived by his sons, Keith (Jacqueline) Grusak of Union Mills, Eric (Jill) Grusak of Highland, and Bob (Annie) Grusak of Hobart; six grandchildren, Heather, Gavin, Raeann, Abigail, Joely, and Liliana; three great grandchildren, Aidan, Samantha, and Carter; two sisters, Annie (Carl) Bellini, and Janet Grusak; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of fifty plus years, Paulette Brown Grusak; sister, Vera "Tootsie" Hadaday, and brother, Andrew Grusak.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 pm Saturday August 24, 2024, at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, Indiana 46368. Rev. Nathan Kramer will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until time of service at 4:00 pm. Daniel will be cremated and his ashes interred in Calvary Cemetery in Portage.

In lieu of flowers donations are preferred to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org, or Plant a tree in Daniel's Memory.
