Daniel Dean Jones, age 21, of Portage passed away Wednesday July 3, 2013. Daniel was a cook working for Schoop's in Merrillville. Daniel was born November 29, 1991 in Valparaiso, Indiana to Sammy and Georgianna (Simpson) Jones. He loved gaming, skateboarding and playing drum at the Mission Church. He was an accomplished drummer and guitarist.
Daniel is survived by his father Sammy (Betty) jones of Hobart; his mother Georgianna Simpson of Portage; his sister Samantha Simpson Jones of Ava, IL; a grandmother Stella Simpson of Portage and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service for Daniel will be Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 1:00 pm with visitation from 11 am until 1 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue, Indiana 46368 with Rev. Jerry P. Martin officiating. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be form 11 am until 1 pm on Tuesday.
