Obituary

Daniel Odoyo Nyambok, 67,Portage, Indiana, passed away Tuesday morning,

April 7,2020.He was born 04/23/1952, in Shirati, Tanzania, to Nashon K. Nyambok andDorka B. Oliech.

On 06/18/2003 he was married to Lilian Higilo.

Daniel worked as a dedicated Engineer which was his passion. Daniel's

hobbies were traveling to the homeland of Shirati, and spending time with

family and friends aside from working. Daniel is loved and cherished by

many, as he was a kind, selfless, mild-mannered man with a soothing

demeanor and quiet strength. Daniel wasn't a man of many words. However,

he was known for his steadfast loyalty and reliability to the ones he loved. He

had many roles varying from a loving grandfather, a father, an advisor, a

friend, to a skilled and multifaceted man of many trades to many.

His legacy lives on and will be honored through his five children; Edward,

Doris, Flora, Cosma, and Samson, South Bend, Indiana from the previous

marriage to Turfena Okidi and three siblings, Manean Kawira, Shirati,

Tanzania, Isaka Kawira, Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and Yohana Kawira, Rahway,

New Jersey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother Josia Kawira and a sister,

Loyce Chacha.

Daniel was not just a devoted father, but also a confidant and friend. He was

a rare soul, and will always be remembered and honored and carried within

my heart. Words don't do justice for the bond, wisdom and treasure he's

instilled in me from childhood. The time spent was truly a privilege; the

devastation from his loss is still so surreal and immeasurable in many ways

because he has touched so many with his time here. – Flora Kawira
