DANIEL B. "DIRTY DAN" WESTFALL, age 64, of Lake Station, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at St. Mary Medical Center. He was born in Buffalo, NY on November 7, 1946 to Brady and Celia Westfall. Daniel was a resident of NW Indiana since 1987 coming from Texas. He retired from US Steel after 30 years of service. Daniel enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and was a member of the Deep River RC Club. He loved animals and enjoyed feeding and watching them in his backyard. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Susan; 4 daughters, Sara (Frank) Hayes, Deanne (Thomas) Hill, Susan (Steven) Borrmann, Tammy Westfall; 7 grandchildren.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service for Daniel will be Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage with Pastor Bob Burton officiating.
