Daniel E. Williamson, Sr. passed away December 4, 2024, in the same house he was born in on August 24, 1949, at the age of 75. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. On March 14, 1968, he married Patricia Harvey in Chicago, Illinois. He was a member of the Portage Moose Lodge. With his booming voice and his cheshire grin, Dan was a very likeable man who never met a stranger.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Williamson; sons, Daniel Williamson, Jr., John (Lisa Fields) Williamson; grandchildren, Angel Williamson, Christopher Williamson, Justin Fields, Jacob Fields, Jeanyn "Nene" Williamson, Samantha (Michael) Pederson, Taylor (Joey) Landers; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Lester (Sheila) Williamson; sisters, Karen Shepard, Esther Zimmerman, Eleanor "Dee" Bray; and many loving nephews, nieces, family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary Williamson; granddaughter, Tiffany D'Aloisio; and siblings, Fred Williamson, Dale Williamson, Rodney Williamson, Frances Willis, and Ellen Ahern.
Memorial contributions in Dan's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 130 Red Coach Drive, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
Visitation for Dan will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Ave., Lake Station. A funeral service will take place Friday, December 13, 2024, at 10:00 am at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. For more information, please call (219) 962-1606.
