Darlene C. Marovich (nee Szwedo), age 65, of Westville passed away Friday, July 16, 2021. She was born on August 31, 1955 in Gary, Indiana to the late John and Mildred Szwedo. On February 14, 1984, she married Thomas Marovich in Valparaiso. She retired last September from CVS where she worked as a shift supervisor for 17 years. Darlene loved to go for walks and play BINGO at the Ahepa lodge in Hobart three times a week. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas Marovich; daughter, Valerie (Joe) Davis; sons, Todd Matheny, Tom Marovich; and 3 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mildred Szwedo; sister, Cassie Hoobyar; and 2 brothers, Ron and Fred Szwedo. Memorial contributions in Darlene's name may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

A funeral service for Darlene will take place Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 12:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart.
