Darrell Reed Blanchard

Darrell Reed Blanchard, ae 64, of Portage passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018. He was born in Gary, Indiana on September 10, 1953 to the late Leroy V. and Maxine M. Blanchard. Darrell lived in Hobart for four years after his birth and resided in Portage for the remainder of his life. He was a retired welder from US Steel. He was a supportive father and enjoyed working outside in his yard and performing home carpentry work. He enjoyed the company of numerous friends and family.

Darrell is survived by his children, Darrell Blanchard and Natalie Levy; grandchildren, Jeremy Blanchard, Brooke Blanchard and Jacob Blanchard; brother, Lawrence Blanchard; and sisters, Susan Deering, Rachel Habhab and Barbara Taylor.

A funeral service for Darrell will take place Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. Portage with Pastor Bob Burton officiating. He will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Monday June 4, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. For more information, please call (219) 762-3013.
