Darrick Parker, age 50 of Smyrna, Tennessee and formerly of Gary, Indiana passed away Friday, December 17, 2021. He was born on November 17, 1971 in Gary, Indiana to Fred and Dorothy Parker. Darrick worked for Coca Cola as a delivery driver for many years. Darrick loved music and the Bad News Bears. He had a fantastic sense of humor and loved to laugh with his family and friends. He was a sharp dresser, loved his hats and will always be remembered for his fashion sense. He was a dedicated member of New Mount Olive Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Parker; son, Jordin Parker; daughter, Justice Parker; sisters, Joyce (Leroy) Ferrell, Veronica (Jerome) Black, Gwenona Parker, Sandra (Johnny) Parker Hughes, Carolyn Rena Daniels; and five loving grandchildren, London and King and their mother, Tiara, Jazelle and her mother, Chyril, Te'Mya and Tristan and their father, Tremane; lifelong best friend, Dion Hurt, Sr ; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in receiving his wings by his father, Fred Parker; only brother, Freddrick Parker, paternal grandparents, Nellie Parker and Scott Parker, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Rosie Evelyn Robinson and Hillard Vince Robinson.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 3, 2022 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A funeral service will take place at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Levi Jones officiating. He will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park.
