DAVID A. CARPENTER, age 77, of Portage, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Golden Living Center.  He was born on May 15, 1941 to the late Clifford and Leona Carpenter (nee Niksch).  David was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hobart.  He had an amazing amount of fortitude and an incredible spirit throughout the challenges he faced in his life.  David will be remembered for his sense of humor and as always being a loving son, brother, and uncle.

He is survived by his brother, Wayne (Janet) Carpenter, Chesterton; 3 sisters, Linda A. Brynn, Portage, Elaine R. (Norman H.) Graden and Carol S. (Frederick) Haddad, all of Henderson, NV; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family.

David was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Kenneth Brynn; and nephew, Kevin W. Brynn.

A memorial service for David will be Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart with Rev. Gary S. Nagy officiating.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
