David Caywood, age 76 of Charles City, Virginia passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016. He was born on November 13, 1939 in Corbin, Kentucky to the late Thomas and Ruby Caywood. David served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was the recipient of the Purple Heart. He worked as an Electrician for Local 697. David enjoyed watching Nascar, coin collecting and operating two-way radios.
He is survived by one son, David (Kristen) Caywood II of Avon, CT; one daughter, April Terry of Hobart, IN; one brother, Robert (Beverly) Caywood of TN; 3 grandchildren, Nathan Uldricks of Arlington, VA; and Beckett and Delaney Caywood of Avon, CT; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia D. Caywood, one brother, Thomas Caywood, and one sister, Rebecca Bartholemew.
Funeral services are Friday, April 29, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage with Rev. Cornell Smith and Rev. Mitchell Tabla officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Visitation is Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, Portage.
